Peru Off Road Expedition
Self Drive our 4×4 Camper on this Guided Expedition across the Desert.
Guided by professional Off Road Instructor
After an early pick up form your hotel or airport we will transport you to your vehicles where we will familiarize you with the operation of the equipment. Our first drive is a short 200 Km down the Pan Americana Highway. First stop is the Paracas National Reserve, with activities in archaeology, paleontology, bird watching, water sports, and off roading. Off the coast are the Ballestas Islands, teeming with cormorants, sea lions, penguins, Peruvian Boobies, and Inca Turns. On arrival, with a couple hours of daylight left we will explore the reserve and pick a campsite on one of its many beaches.
2 Ballestas Islands
This morning we are free to drive around the park, take a wild buggy ride through the dunes, or a boat ride to the islands to admire some of the fauna. After lunch and an introduction to off-road driving by our guide, we will leave civilization and 80 Km south to our camp at Barlovento.
Full day offroad as we head south thru the desert, along the Pacific Ocean. Our off-road abilities will be put to the test as we traverse beaches, sand dunes, mountains, river beds, and often follow the tracks from several previous editions of the Dakar Rally.
4 Puerto Caballas
Another off-road day, with more driving fun. Today we will pass the Infiernillo Light house and a sea lion habitat, as we make our way to Puerto Caballas where we will finally get back on a dirt track that will lead us back to the Pan Americana and arrival into Nasca.
The Nazca Lines are a series of geogliphs drawn in the desert around 2,000 years ago; there are hundreds of lines and geometric shapes; also birds, fish, llama, jaguar, monkey, trees, flowers, and human figures.
We will start the day with a flight over the lines. Throughout the the day we will visit the Cantayoc Aqueducts, Chauchilla Cementery, and the adobe city of Cahuachi; all remains of the people who drew the Nasca Lines 2,000 years ago.
